County election matchups are set across the county.

Nine candidates have qualified to try unseat Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason including former Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance in what is expected to be one of the most competitive sheriff races in recent memory in the county.

COLENDULA'S MESSAGE

There is nothing that is more important than the safety of your family and your community. We live together, we work together, and we depend on each other. We don’t need harsher laws or sentencing or profiling to keep our neighborhoods safe, we only need the resources, the dedication of public servants, and safety awareness to keep crime away from the places we call home.

I am Colendula Green and I believe It’s time we focus on community, not just crime.
